Do you have a Gifted Program?

The R.I.S.E. (Recognizing Individual Student Excellence) gifted program is open to students in grades 1-8 who meet eligibility requirements. The students are challenged to collaborate on specific goals involving critical thinking and problem solving activities through exploratory units that involve all disciplines across the curriculum and meet the needs of their particular areas of giftedness. Our gifted teachers focus on the Webbs Depth of Knowledge (DOK) Scale, which provides a frame of reference when considering how students engage with higher-level learning content. DOK offers a common language to understand rigor, or cognitive demand, in assessments, as well as curricular units, lessons and tasks.

Do parents play a role in their child's education at Legacy Traditional School?

Yes! We are founded on the principle that quality education depends upon a strong partnership between parents and staff. Are all of your teachers certified?

Yes, and each is Highly Qualified and holds a minimum of a bachelors degree.

What is the difference between Legacy Traditional School and traditional public schools?

Charter schools are public schools that are innovative while still being held accountable for improved student achievement. Charter schools vary in mission and model, serving a wide range of students, many with needs beyond the one-size-fits-all traditional public school.

While we do not have a high school, parents of a Legacy Traditional School student can be assured their child will continue to receive a quality education after they leave our doors. Public school honors programs offer high level challenges that your Legacy Traditional School students will be ready to meet. Together we – you and your children, along with our teachers and staff – have made certain of that through our commitment to academic excellence.

Do you offer free, full-day kindergarten?

All of our kinder sessions are half day. We do offer K.E.E.P. (Kindergarten Educational Enrichment Program) for $250 per month, which extends your childs kindergarten curriculum to full day, providing extra enrichment time for Spalding, Saxon, Social Studies and Science, as well as time for homework and a variety of special activities.
